About the piece
I love the flow of watercolor pigment when it meets water. They become fast friends or distant enemies. Some pigments are dominant, others passive. It's always wonderful to see what happens. My first love has always been flowers in the landscape. Here, I've captured pink thistles on a hot summer day in my expressive style. The artwork is 11x16 behind a soft white mat; protected by plexiglass. The thin, light colored bronze metal frame compliments the colors in the artwork. Prefer this artwork without the mat or frame? About the artist
Lynne Furrer took her first watercolor class to apply painting techniques to her photography. Instead, she fell in love with the flow of water and its magical attraction to pigment on paper! Her loose, semi-abstract style transforms the representational into the mysterious. Evolving as an artist, she carries her colorful, expressive style to acrylic, mixed media, oil and encaustic.
