About the artist

J.T. Kirkland studied and received his BS from Centre College in Kentucky. His works have been exhibited in Blank Space Gallery (2012/2010, New York, NY), Dorsch Gallery (2012, Miami, FL), McLean Project for the Arts (2012, McLean, VA), The Heurich Gallery, PASS Gallery (2012, Washington DC), Marriott Financial Center (2010, Charlottesville, VA), Red Door Gallery (2006, Richmond, VA), Reston Arts Center (2006, Reston, VA), and were included in the permanent collection at the University of Kentucky Art Museum. In 2012, Kirkland received the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship, juried by Scott Rothkopf, curator at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and was also included in Geoform.net, internationally curated by Julie Karabenick and Howard Barnhart. He was also a semi-finalist for Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize in 2011 and 2006, and received Robert Riddick Memorial Award at Rawls Museum Arts Juried Exhibition in 2009. J.T. Kirkland lives and works in Virginia.
