About the artist
Sharon Pierce McCullough, born in Granite City, Illinois, is a visual artist engaged in a multidisciplinary practice that includes painting, drawing and sculpture. Her use of vivid colors has always been one of the most striking aspects of her work, with geometrics and animals being the most repetitive themes. An underlying thread of "fun" has always permeated her works. Her paintings reflect meaning relative to self, relationships and choices one makes in life. She is a self-taught artist that experiments with many different techniques and materials. Many of her abstract paintings are done in series over the course of several months.
McCullough's original artwork has been collected and displayed in private homes, businesses, children’s hospitals and public buildings across the country. She is the recipient of numerous awards in 2015 and 2016.
