Brian M. White
Waterbased Print Ink Cold Press Paper
About the piece
This piece was inspired by a lady I met in the mountains of Guatemala while on a mission trip with Paso a Paso in 2010. She had been beaten by her husband and he had broken her leg. She was using a handmade crutch to limp around. She pushed through the pain to walk to church a ½ mile away.
About the artist
Brian has worked in art, design, and communication arts for 20 years. He loves to try new styles and techniques in both painting and printmaking. He is constantly pushing the boundries of what acrylic can look like mixed with mediums to get a traditional oil feel. Brian also loves to make block prints and relief prints with unique linoleum to get the "dry etch" edge of intaglio prints. Brian lives with his wife (also an artist) and three kids in Lawrence, Kansas.
