About the artist
Anna was born in Minneapolis, USA, grew up in Germany and has lived in Switzerland, England, and China. Now, she works and lives in Sigtuna, Sweden. She grew up in a family of artists and collectors, but had a professional carrier as management consultant, before she decided to follow her heart and paint fulltime end of 2015. Although she is mainly self-taught in the arts, she has taken courses in use design. Exile Professor Shahab Mousavizadeh from Teheran University of Arts was her mentor during high school years in Bonn, Germany. She also holds an MBA from Gothenburg School of Economics and Law, an MSc in Informatics from Gothenburg IT-University and has studied Mandarin at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. No matter how we feel, who we are or where we come from, a playful splash of color can brighten up our life. What we surround ourselves with becomes a part of us. Inspiring, colorful settings can raise our mood, help us reload our energy, stimulate our creativity, and open our minds for new, interesting things. This is what Anna strives for in her art. Her perception is a vessel for the form the artwork takes. Anna’s painting style is expressive with a lot of color. She likes to keep things loose and loves texture. That's why her preferred painting tools are the knife and tube. She also enjoys working with water colors. Her themes have evolved over time from merely figurative to also include abstract landscape and floral art.
