Brian M. White
About the piece
A ‘kairos moment’ is a moment in time when the Holy Spirit draws near to do a special work in and through a person or group. This was a Khairos moment when I had doubts in my mind about God, who He was and even if He was there “somewhere”. One night in desperation in 1999 I woke up in the middle of the night and prayed for a “sign”, anything. I reached out my hand and physically touched His hand in front of me. It was dark in the room, but felt light. It is hard to explain but I saw colors and a circular motion of white light. This is my artistic rendition of that experience and has 10+ different layers of dark, circular paint, and white.
About the artist
Brian has worked in art, design, and communication arts for 20 years. He loves to try new styles and techniques in both painting and printmaking. He is constantly pushing the boundries of what acrylic can look like mixed with mediums to get a traditional oil feel. Brian also loves to make block prints and relief prints with unique linoleum to get the "dry etch" edge of intaglio prints. Brian lives with his wife (also an artist) and three kids in Lawrence, Kansas.
