Gordon Pembridge is one of the world’s leading woodturner's known for creating incredibly detailed, intricate hand painted and carved wooden bowls inspired by nature.
Gordon was born in Kenya and got to experience the wilds of Africa along with many an adventures in the bush as a young boy. He is based in picturesque New Zealand and has developed a lifelong relationship with nature and developed a passion for natural history.
Gordon has been involved extensively with the great outdoors including tramping, hunting, fishing, scuba diving. Gordon has grown to love the New Zealand bush for its unique flora and fauna and incorporated elements of natural history and portrayals of wild life in his art.
Gordon has developed a series of thin turned pieces with a pierced fern as a signature piece. In these pieces Gordon loves exploring the boundaries of woodturning on the lathe and then hand carving of intricate designs into the timber.
