"Bert Green graduated from New York University, and was the executive director of the NYC based non-profit arts organization Circumference from 1982 through 1989.

From 1992 to 1996, Mr. Green was a co-curator for the San Francisco, CA based non-profit arts organization ArtReach.

In 1999 Bert Green relocated to Los Angeles, CA to open the Circle Elephant Art gallery, and in 2004 opened Bert Green Fine Art in Downtown Los Angeles as the flagship of the newly established Gallery Row district.

Bert Green founded the Los Angeles Downtown Art Walk in 2004, which has grown to become the largest monthly art event in Los Angeles.

In 2011 BGFA moved from a retail gallery location to a private, by appointment-only space in Downtown Los Angeles, and the gallery closed in November 2011.

In 2012, Bert Green relocated Bert Green Fine Art to Chicago, IL in an historic high rise on Michigan Avenue, across from Millennium Park and a block north of The Art Institute of Chicago."
