About the piece
Shows the humble beauty of London. Working class town houses create the real feel of London and its people. Nothing too spectacular or glamorous about this one, but that makes it all the more enticing. Art and beauty isn't only present in the precious treasures, but also in humble ordinary moments such as these. As much as the honest nature of the buildings portray an unmissable charm, the sky is the real eye pleaser. The bold colours of the sky in all its glory contrasting with the humble nature of the houses creates an intriguingly harmonious juxtaposition between the ordinary and extraordinary.
About the artist
Born and raised in London. I was the quiet kid with a messy room always doodling. Now that I'm older I hope people can connect with my work and find something that speaks to them. Feeling like an underdog is tough. Sometimes we feel we're too poor, too ugly, not smart enough... Sure perfect teeth and a nice Rolls Royce is lovely. But are we missing something? I feel beauty is everywhere. I want the underdogs to feel their life is also filled with beauty. I mainly paint, but dabble with a few other things. Oils, acrylics, canvases, paper, I love them all and have done for many years. Sketching was my initial passion, I loved exploring different tones and techniques. Sculpting is a more recent hobby, I found carving and exploring shapes and textures in a different way from 2D work refreshing.
