This photograph is part of a series of photographs, which aims at challanging our perception of reality, as it is percieved by our senses, through images taken straight from nature.The photographs in the series have not in any way undergone any digital alterations such as photoshop, which would distort the veracity of the image, save for a few light touches in the dark room. Everything seen here is an original product of the lenses.
About the artist
Leon Cika (July 12, 1954) is an Albanian painter, photographer and journalist. He graduated from the Academy of the Fine Arts of Tirana in 1976 with a major in Graphic Arts.
Leon Cika, for more than 40 years, has devoted himself to an artistic production that is always reinventing itself. He is celebrated for his technical mastery, profound visionary freedom, elegance and touching empathy.
He is always switching between styles - experimenting with form and color.
A stubborn believer in the wholeness and mystery of life he refuses to alter his photography by means of modem technology. In fact, his printed works of art are all a direct result of the lenses of his camera.
As a painter, he is mainly a figurative artist. His favourite theme is European and American architecture. His paintings fall into the postimpressionist category with a touch of fauvism and expressionism and sometimes the abstract. The paintings and the photos are generally organized in series
