Celtic Knot Window Sculpture, 2012,
Clay, Glass on metal stand

About the piece
I created a way to look inside a ceramic design so that light plays on the stained glass, and in the absence of light the surface emerges. I call them window sculptures, but they can also be shown backlit.
About the artist
I majored in advertising at the University of Michigan where I fell in love with ceramics. I received an Artist Fellowship Grant frm the Connecticut Commission on the Arts in 2004, was in Art in Embassies 2006-08 (in the American Embassy of Pretoria, South Africa). The work is in the permanent collection of the Smilow Cancer Center and the Yale Medical Group at Yale University. I've exhibited in major craft shows since 1989, including the Smithsonian in 1999, and now in Sarasota and Naples. The work has been shown in numerous galleries throughout the U.S. and Canada.
