About the piece
This photo is one of the frozen lake Baikal series. It was taken during the ice skating journey to the lake Baikal (Russia) in the winter of 2014. Baikal in winter is a real place of power, one of the most extraordinary places in the world. The ice on this photo is completely smooth. These odd patterns are methane air bubbles, which are located under the surface at different levels of the ice mass. This is an incredible feeling, when you are standing on the almost one meter thick smooth ice! Smooth, but with cracks. Baikal is wholly cut up by cracks - thin or thick. Ice crackles, water under the ice gurgles. It scares for the first time, but then you get used to it and enjoy these sounds. Limited edition of 3 for all sizes and types of material. Signed and numbered on the front with the certificate of authenticity. The size of the printed area for Giclee Prints is 36 x 24 in (91,4 x 61 cm). All prints are supplied with an additional white border for mounting and framing (the size of the border is on your request). Price - $1500 Also available as C-Type FujiFilm Crystal Archive Prints mounted on Dibond without white borders 36 x 24 in, ready to hang. The price for Dibond is $1700 The real size may be slightly different due to cropping after printing.
